Terms of Use
Effective 4 September 2026
These terms govern your use of the Mubtadaʾ app and website. They are written to be read, not skimmed — if anything here is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.
1. Who we are
Mubtadaʾ is operated by [Company name] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@mubtada.app.
2. What Mubtadaʾ is
Mubtadaʾ is an educational app that teaches Arabic grammar (naḥw) to people who can already read vocalized Arabic script. Lessons, practice and feedback are generated by an AI tutor, grounded in a standard grammar reference, and personalised to your progress. It is a study aid. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it is not religious guidance.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity on your account.
- One account is for one person. Please don't share it.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile in the app. Deletion is permanent.
4. Subscriptions, trials and billing
Lessons are part of Mubtadaʾ Pro, a paid subscription. Reviewing your cards, your vocabulary and your path remain available without it.
- Free trial. Where offered, a free trial gives full access for the stated period. If you do nothing, your chosen plan begins when the trial ends and you are charged then — not before. We show the exact dates on the screen where you start it, and we send a reminder the day before the first charge if you have allowed notifications.
- Billing. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are charged to that store account. Prices are shown in the app in your store's currency.
- Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from Profile → Manage subscription, or in your store's subscription settings. You keep access until the end of the period already paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under its policies. We cannot issue refunds directly for store purchases.
5. Using the app fairly
- Don't try to break, reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service.
- Don't use the tutor to generate content that is unlawful, abusive or harmful.
- Don't resell access or use the app on behalf of anyone else.
6. AI-generated content
Lessons, feedback and answers in the chat are produced by an AI model. We ground it in a published grammar reference and check its structure, and we design it to say when it is unsure — but it can still make mistakes. Treat surprising claims with the same care you would with any single source, and tell us when something is wrong so we can fix it.
7. Your content and your data
Your written answers, chat messages and progress belong to you. You grant us the licence we need to store and process them to provide the service, including sending them to our AI provider to generate feedback. How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Our content
The app, its design, the medallion mark, the name Mubtadaʾ and the lessons generated for you are ours or our licensors'. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, redistribute or sell them.
9. Availability
The app needs an internet connection: every lesson is written live and your progress lives with your account. We aim for the service to be available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we may change or discontinue features.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we provide the app “as is” and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where the law requires it.
12. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
